To me life is a celebration, an adventure, and a fight. It is up to you when it comes to how far you want to take it. My name is Dan Eric Olsen and I am the founder of Deep End Official. I really have never talked about my diagnosis with anyone, but someone close to me once told me I would be selfish if I didn’t. That really stuck with me because the last thing I am is selfish. I felt it was my problem and my problem only to deal with, why should anyone else have to be bothered. When I was 12 years old, I was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease called Friedreichs Ataxia. A disease that has no cure to date and only progressively gets worse as time goes on. A.K.A shit’s about to get real. My balance and motor skills will slowly deteriorate. I fought being in a wheelchair up until I was 17 years old when I had to get an operation that put 2 metal rods along my spine to hold it straight. Think I was finished? Yea, no shot! Moving forward I graduated best dressed in high school, graduated Middlesex community college with an associates degree, then rolled my way around South Florida getting a bachelors degree in business at FAU. Did I have to do any of that? Absolutely not, I turn heads. Andiamo. At the end of 2018 I was introduced to A-fib and then 9 months later in 2019 I was hit with an even bigger A-fib attack. About a year went by and I lost most of my vision. That is the latest progression point but despite all these dark times I never lost my passion for dressing fly. Everyone has there own mountain to climb I just want to share this tool that helped me and still continues to help me throughout this journey. Help me to help you stay above water.
